A break in the extreme cold may make room for snow or even flurries in St. Albert Tuesday.
Environment Canada sees the periods of light snow that fell overnight ending this morning, leading to a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of flurries beginning by 10 a.m.
The temperature is expected to fall to -19 C this afternoon with the wind chill making it feel more like -26.
Partly cloudy conditions will persist overnight with another 30 per cent chance of flurries taking over early in the evening. The low will be -24 C with the slight breeze making it feel like -29 and presenting the risk of frostbite.
Similar temperatures and cloudy conditions are expected to persist into the weekend.
