LETTER: Sorry to my fellow shoppers

letter-sta

As we all learn how to mitigate this ever-changing world that is affected in the face of this pandemic, I have to admit that it is a learning curve – even to me.

While I work from home full-time and have for almost 20 years, I feel fortunate that I have not been overly affected by the virus. I have however, been at home social distancing as instructed by officials and have been limiting my shopping trips.

So without going grocery shopping for nearly a month, I hadn't realized how much grocery store etiquette has changed. I didn't realize until after gathering my goods that there were directional arrows on the floor – that I totally didn't follow.

I want to say sorry to those fellow shoppers who were looking towards me with horror as I walked the wrong way down the aisle, which in turn allowed me to also beat everyone to the checkout line. I am so sorry for this, and moving forward I will definitely pay closer attention to directional arrows.
