LETTER: It's not fair, I know ...

As unfair as it is, it has to be said that 100 young people at the skateboarding park does not fall in line with the government COVID restrictions.

I'm disheartened to have to bring this to light, because the young people in this community are having fun there, getting exercise, and staying off technology. All the things we wish for them!

With the warmer temperatures, the last time I drove by the park, there must've been over 100 youth there. If we want to keep our community healthy, we can't ignore the COVID restrictions, which at this time are "Outdoor gatherings are limited to 10 people maximum".

I'm sorry, I don't feel good about calling out these kids who are doing exactly what they should, but I don't feel comfortable saying nothing. There has to be a way to cap and police the number of people there at one time. It's for the sake of our entire community. If one gets COVID, they will bring it to the rest, and then all of our schools will have outbreaks. This will then lead to parents, teachers and siblings all having COVID as well. We have to be diligent.
