It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to William (Bill) Sawchuk of St.Albert on July 17th, 2019 at the age of 84.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Lesca; his children Susan (Laurence) and Jim (Sandy); his grandchildren Stacy (Adam) and Jamie (Jack) and his great grandson Lyric.

He was predeceased by his parents Pauline and Nicholas, his brothers Walter and Alexander.

Born in Bowsman, Manitoba, Bill grew up in the rural prairies and moved to Alberta in 1956. He met his loving wife, Lesca in 1958 in Edmonton. Bill had a long career at Northwestern Utilities, where he made many lifetime friends. He retired with over 30 years of service.

Upon retirement, Bill and Lesca spent many years as snowbirds travelling to Arizona every winter, where Bill spent his days playing shuffleboard, golfing and enjoying happy hour with friends. Bill lived a very full life, always laughing, pulling pranks on his grandchildren and making friends wherever he went. Bill lovingly referred to his grandchildren as his little angels and truly believed they could do no wrong.

Bill will be truly missed by all of his family and friends. A special thanks to Bill’s medical / nursing staff who provided him with years of care, especially Dr. T. Talibi, Dr. N. McDonald and Dr. P. Chung and The Covenant Health Youville Home and Citadel Long Term Care.

A private interment service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
