It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden though peaceful passing of Suzanne Chelkowski on June 26, 2025, at the age of 89.

Suzanne bravely moved to "the west" in 1957 with her best friend and settled in St. Albert where she started a family. She worked as an R.N., with the majority of her nursing career working at the Sturgeon Hospital in St. Albert.

Suzanne was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Her strength, warmth, and quiet wisdom touched the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will forever be cherished.

"When we needed her the most, she was always there - always willing to do what was needed to support us. Her kids always came first."

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Carmen (Daryl), Marcel (Grayce) and Diane; as well as three grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her loss, her sisters, Madeleine (Gaetan) and Jacqueline; brother, Germain (Clarisse); cousins, nieces and nephews in Quebec; as well as her extended family and dear friends here.

Suzanne was a proud and caring grandmother to Nicholas, Kelsey, and Pierre, each of whom brought her immense joy. Her grandkids were the highlight of her life, and they will treasure the memories of her homemade soups, having sleepovers, playing Skip-Bo, and even the foot massages. They will lovingly remember her always.

She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Brigitte; mother, Corinne; father, Ludger; brothers, George, Alphonse and Andre; as well as her best friend, Louise.

The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Citadel Care Centre for their compassionate care of Suzanne this past year.

Suzanne's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all those who were fortunate to share in her life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Dr., St. Albert, AB.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a gesture of kindness in Suzanne's memory-something she was known for in both big and small ways throughout her life, and/or a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

♥ Forever in our hearts.♥ xoxo
