February 22, 1941 – July 1, 2025

It is with deep sorrow, yet gratitude for a life well lived, that we announce that Anne Marie Venne (nee Blair) of St. Albert, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on July 1, 2025.

Anne Marie was born in St. Albert on February 22, 1941, the only child of Allan and Cecilia (Gillies) Blair.  Anne Marie grew up in St. Albert, making lifelong friends and proudly lived in the community for the rest of her life.  She attended the University of Alberta after high school and obtained her diploma in Education majoring in Home Economics.  She taught school in St. Albert before starting her family.  Anne Marie married her beloved husband Marcel in 1963 and moved to their home of 53 years on Glenmore Crescent.  Anne Marie was grateful for the love and friendship of her neighbours of all those years.  As an only child, she cherished all her extended family members. Anne Marie was an active volunteer at the St. Albert Parish, Girl Guides of Canada and as Chair of the Youville Home Board. After raising her children, Anne Marie went back to the University of Alberta and earned her Bachelor of Education degree – an achievement that brought her much joy.  Following this, Anne Marie was employed by the Edmonton Catholic Archdiocese Social Justice Commission - she was fulfilled by the work and those she worked alongside.

Anne Marie will be deeply missed by her children, Maureen Kuchera and Scott (Angie) Venne of St. Albert, Bruce Venne and Amy (Campbell) Mackenzie of Edmonton.  She also leaves eight grandchildren, Sarah, Zachary and Emily Venne, Samuel and Benjamin Kuchera and Andrea (Dean) Robinson and Jack and Lachlan Mackenzie; and two great grandchildren, Darcy and Beaux Robinson.

She was predeceased by her husband Marcel; infant daughter, Lorrie Marie; and her son-in-law Robert Kuchera; parents, Allan and Cecilia Blair; and parents-in-law, Athanese & Maria (Theroux) Venne.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11:00 am in St. Albert Catholic Church, 7 St. Vital Ave. Interment will follow in St. Albert Parish Cemetery.
