Our mother Mary Lindsay Vaughan (Sumner) passed away peacefully at Westlock Hospital, Alberta on Oct. 3, 2023 at the age of 89 years old.
She was the last remaining child of Margaret Jane Kinnear and Richard Sumner. Siblings predeceasing her include Margaret Lemmon, Isabelle Sumner, Muriel McNeil, Richard Sumner, Roland Sumner, and Cyril Sumner.
Our father William James Vaughan also predeceased her.
She is survived by us, her two daughters Victoria Ferguson and Joyce Bernard, her four grandchildren Shawn Bernard, Joel Bernard, Megan Ferguson, and Nicole Ducharme (Daniel Ducharme) as well as two beautiful great granddaughters Hazel and Brynn Ducharme. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews and their children.
She had a vitality; a drive; a strength, that came to her naturally. Throughout her entire life she did what she wanted, she followed her interests, and she sought the life that she wanted to live. She will be dearly missed and although she has left a giant hole in our hearts, her memories remain and her love lives on through all of us! We love you Mom, Grandma, and Gigi. Rest in peace!
