It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing on Saturday, August 9th of Walter Nicholas Vos, beloved husband of 36 years to his wife Brenda Lee (Doyle) and adored father to his 22 year old daughter Martina.
Walter was an adventurous man who grew up in Belleville, Ontario as a first generation Canadian to his Dutch parents Corrie (Vegt) and Hank Vos along with his older sister Vivian. He loved learning and had diplomas and degrees in Forestry, Aircraft Engine Mechanics and Truck Driving. His career took him to Northern Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Prince Edward Island, Alberta, Yukon, Germany and British Columbia. Walter loved canoeing, camping, reading and traveling. In the last two years alone, he traveled to Brazil for a Taylor Swift concert for his daughter, cruised to Alaska for his sister-in-law, Deborah's, 65th birthday and spent 3 months hiking the Scottish Highlands, the woods of England, the beaches of Portugal and cities of Spain. He was a kind, generous, loving man who left too soon from a short battle with cancer.
He will be deeply missed by his sister Vivian (Long) and her family (Ron, Colin, Savannah, Joanna, Jordan). Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law (Gerry Doyle, Betty Lou Tilley, Shirley Pierce, Carol Ann Gallant, Marlene White, Sylvia Burke, Leonard Doyle, Paulette Rodziewicz, Deborah Doyle, John Doyle, Andrea Doyle) and their families as well so many treasured nieces, nephews.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 12 o'clock at St Albert Inn followed by a light lunch. All are welcome.
