With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of their beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend, Chris, on Thursday, July 4, 2024 at the age of 75. Chris will be sadly missed by her loving husband, David, of 56 years, her sons; Andre (Jenny), Eric, and Neil (Janelle), precious grandchildren; Gabrielle, Madeleine and Edmund, as well as by numerous family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; Frank and Gabrielle, and her sister Marilyn.
Chris was one-of-a-kind. Dressmaker extraordinaire, labor and delivery nurse, and a phenomenal cook. She was an extremely talented seamstress, and had a portfolio of beautiful wedding dresses she created. Cook of creamed new potatoes with dill, croquettes, Christmas cake, turkey dinner, and who could forget her amazing raspberry tarts! Lover of all crafts, baby and Christmas items, Roy Orbison tunes, and Belgian chocolate. She enjoyed talking about growing up in Prince Albert with her 8 brothers and sisters, and her stories about her cousins were legendary! Chris was known for her exact way of doing things and she disdained any politician who wouldn’t stick up for the health care system. She loved her boys, her David, her grandchildren, her friends, and her love was unconditional. To say that we will miss her is a huge understatement, but she is finally pain free and safe in God’s care. We love you, Chris. Until we meet again.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Albert Catholic Parish at 7 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert. With interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 16102 Fort Road, NW, Edmonton, AB.
