It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John “Jim” Tymo PhD on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at the age of 75 years.

Jim loved playing card games, joking around, going for drives, and visiting with friends. He could often be found talking on the phone, telling his friends and family the various things that happened during his day. He also recently learned to play the piano. Three words that sum up Jim’s life would be teacher, joker, and friend.

Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his kids, John and Mary Tymo; brother, Norman Tymo; grandchildren, Grace and Matthew Tymo; sister, Shirley Peters; niece, Natasha Tymo; and nephews, Mark Tymo, Jake Peters and Alex Peters; along with his many wonderful friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Park Memorial, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton. To view a livestream of the service, please visit www.parkmemorial.com and select “Webcasting” from Jim’s Book of Memories.

The family gratefully declines floral tributes and requests that you direct donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, https://alzheimer.ca/en.
