Lorraine Marguerite Marie Shelemey, known affectionately as Lorraine to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024, in Edmonton, Alberta, after a life rich with love, art, and family. Born on March 16, 1936, in St. Paul, Alberta, she was the cherished daughter of the late Roy Edwin (Bob) Ploof and Alice Marie (Lily) Ploof. Her life was a testament to the power of grace, wisdom, and faith, and she leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will resonate with all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul Shelemey; and her infant daughter, Tracy Shelemey. Lorraine’s enduring spirit is carried on by her loving children, Lea, Leslie, Troy (Sandra), and Aaron Shelemey; grandchildren, Denise and Gregory Dalphond, Jessica Keohane, Paige and Damon Shelemey, and Christopher and Savanna Shelemey; and great grandchildren, Oliver and Earl Rotz, Peach Dalphond, Freya Jadischke, Brandon Keohane-Stahl, and Michael Keohane. Each one of them reflects a facet of her boundless love, her wisdom, and her unwavering faith, attributes that were the hallmarks of her character.
A Service of Remembrance - Celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held at Connelly -McKinley Ltd. Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta on September 21, 2024 at 10:00am.
