August 13, 1950 - June 17, 2024
Jim has ‘flown west’, leaving his heartbreaking journey with Alzheimer’s far behind. Blue skies and tailwinds, Jim!
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Jean; son Ross and daughter Roxanne; sisters Bev, Lauri (Leigh), and Kelly; brother-in-law Jack Loree (Sharon); numerous nieces and nephews, and many good friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Maynard and Betty, and his sister Valerie.
Jim was a loving and dedicated family man who took great pride and joy in his kids’ endeavours and accomplishments. He enjoyed baseball (including coaching for SAMBA), golf, cars, motorcycles, and pickleball. Always available to lend a hand when his expertise was needed, or just engage in a friendly chat, Jim was a great neighbour who rarely had a bad word to say about anyone. Simply put, Jim was one of the good ones. He will be missed.
Jim didn’t want a funeral. Being the ‘Host in Absentia’ for an informal gathering of friends and family was much more to his liking! That said, please mark your calendar and join us for Jim’s Celebration of Life on Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 1 to 4 pm at Fort Edmonton Park in the replica Blatchford Hangar.
