Dorothy Jean of St. Albert, AB passed away peacefully on October 9, Thanksgiving Day. Anyone’s life she touched will be forever thankful.

Dorothy was born and raised in Alberta. She loved her province right along with every season. Never crossed her mind to be a “Snowbird”. In her younger years she loved playing hockey on the pond, riding horses, and farm life. She attended Poplar Lake School where she met Jim who would become her soulmate. He knew right away that she was his soul mate. Once married with children, her interests changed to kid’s stuff. The old cabin at Pigeon Lake offered lots of entertainment for the family like watersports, ping pong, and the good old “STOMP” at the legion. At 94, she was still golfing, playing bridge and crib, DRIVING herself to the gym. She lived, loved, and respected life. Time to rest Dorothy, good job!

Dorothy is survived by daughters: Patricia (Rudi), Laurie, Catherine (Rudi), yes 2 Rudi’s! 10 grand SONS, 8 great grand SONS, she was very proud of the boys streak! Daughter-in-law Shelagh (David), 2 sisters-in-law; Alice and Jessie, as well as numerous friends and family.

She was predeceased by her husband James “Jim”; children, David and Brian; grandson Tanner; and siblings: Robert, Fred, Donald, and Margaret.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 between the hours of 1:00 and 5:00 pm at #10 Grange Drive, Lakeside Village, St. Albert, in the hall. Please drop in and tell a story!

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the CNIB.

The family would like to thank the ER staff and Palliative Care staff at the Sturgeon Hospital.
