1942-2024
Lionel Gerald Rouault passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday, August 26, 2024 on the palliative unit at the Edmonton General Hospital.
Lionel was born March 31, 1942, he grew up on a farm outside of St. Albert, Alberta. In highschool he met Denise and married her in July, 1964. He became an electrician in his young adult years and that remained his primary occupation. He and Denise had three children together; Tony in 1965, David in 1969, and Renee in 1973. Lionel was a man of many passions including; curling, baseball, golf, coaching hockey, working outdoors, traveling and spending time with his family.
Lionel will be lovingly missed by his wife Denise of 60 years of marriage, his son Tony & Cindy Rouault, Dave & Debbie Rouault, and Renee Ouellette; grandchildren, Candace & Trevor Dreger, Anthony & Vicky Rouault, Brett & Taiysa Rouault, Mitchell & Amy Rouault, Micheal Rouault & Laura Grant, Megan Rouault, Sebastian Ouellette, and Chloe Ouellette; great grandchildren; Calia, Primley, Amaia, Anthony Micheal, Joe, Maddy, and Adley; his brother Andre and wife Norah Rouault; sister Simone and Jim Wurzer; his sister-in-law Mary Lou Rouault; and numerous extended family and friends.
Lionel was predeceased by his parents Joe & Marie Rouault; his brother Raymond Rouault; niece Loraine and nephew Denis.
The family would like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses who provided care to Lionel in the 9 years of having cancer.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday September 5, 2024 at St. Albert Catholic Church, 7 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert, AB. Interment to follow at St. Albert Catholic Church Cemetery.
Memorial Donations may be made to The Alberta Cancer Foundation.
