Glenna Ruth Rattray passed away peacefully, November 30, 2024 at the age of 88 years at Foyer Lacombe in St. Albert.

Glenna was born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, raised in Saskatoon, and with her family, moved to St. Albert in the early 1960’s.

She was predeceased at a young age by her first husband Rodney Erickson, her parents Violet and James Hogg and recently her sister Shirley Gossen.

Her memory is carried on by her husband of 47 years Stewart Rattray, her younger sister Penny Hunter, son Kevin (Donna) Erickson, daughter Melanie (Otto) Rottier, daughter Shannon Erickson, six grandchildren: Courtney (Magnus) Von Rennenkampff, Miki (Kevin) Hundeby, Candis (Justin) Guay, Chad (Natalie) Rottier, Eric Baxter and Rodney Erickson-Fitl, eleven great-grandchildren: Pippa, Mio, Thea, Bella, Olive, Ethan, Joshua, Freya, Adelyn, Brooklyn and Lucas.

Sadly, she lost her first husband very young, however she found the courage and tenacity to fill a dream they had by building a family cabin, which brought her much joy and happiness.

In her earlier years she loved bridge, reading and travelling. Eventually becoming a snowbird in Arizona.

Glenna was an avid sports enthusiast, playing golf in the summer and curling in the winter. In her later years she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. She continued enjoying her sports by watching them whenever she could, which included tennis. Glenna was the backbone of the family. Having everyone over, making delicious meals and spending quality time with family and friends.

With the assistance from Extendicare and SASHA it was possible for Glenna to stay in the family home up until being admitted to Foyer Lacombe.

Heartfelt thanks go out to the staff and doctors of Foyer Lacombe and to the volunteers of SASHA. A special thank you to Karen K. for her compassion until the final days.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations in Glenna’s name may be made to Foyer Lacombe Hospice c/o Covenant Foundation (Foyer Lacombe site) at Covenantfoundation.ca
