He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Cassie, and his

cherished daughters: Cathy (Bill) Welyki, Angela (Mike) Clark, Andrea (Chris)

Joseph and Leigh-Ann (Ron) Rudd. He’ll also be missed by 10 grandchildren:

Jennifer, Janine (Jenny), Jonathan; Taylor (Colin), Brett; Connor, Rachel,

Meghan; Gavin and Tristen. Great-grandchildren Brooklyn and Lincoln; his

brother Gordon Pollon and sister Carole Ross and numerous relatives and

friends across Canada and the U.S.A.

He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Eleanor (Witty), brother-in-law

Keith Bain, grandson Jaxon Joseph and sister-in-law Gerry Anderson.

Ken was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he attended first grade before his

family moved to Edmonton, Alberta in 1942 and this was his home for many

years. He moved to St. Albert, Alberta in 1962 and became an active member

of the community. He was a Charter and Life Member of the St. Albert Kinsmen

Club, a non-presiding Justice of the Peace, and a business man. He opened

the St. Albert Sportshop Ltd. on Perron Street in 1971. In 1986 Ken sold the

Sportshop and went back into automotive sales with Edmonton Motors Limited

where he was recognized by GM with a silver award as a Fleet Manager, he later worked with Airways Rentals, Leasing, Sales before retiring in 2008.

Above all, Ken loved his family and he had a special relationship with them. He

loved his home, gardening, visiting with friends and neighbours, and watching

the Edmonton Oilers! In 1998 he and Cassie joined the Goldbar Hiking Group

with his brothers Gordon and Gerry. They made many new friends hiking the

Edmonton River Valley and the mountains in Banff and Jasper. Ken always said

“we live in God’s country in Alberta”.
