Peacefully, with her family by her side, Sylvia passed away on Friday, April 11th, 2025 in her 98th year.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leo, parents, Andrew and Emma, her brothers, Louis (Mary) and Wesley (Emily). She is survived by her children: Jim (Joan), Patty (Lorne), Holly, Kris (Gail) and Terry (Suzanne); grandchildren: Michael, Allison (Mike), Leo (Dana), Jonathan, Erik and Dana; 3 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Stewart (Jean), relatives on both sides of the family, and dear friends.
A long-time resident of St. Albert, Sylvia worked for 25 years for the Sturgeon Health Unit until retiring as its Administrative Officer. She loved gardening and maintained a beautiful yard; was a Girl Guide leader; skied; went camping and was there for her kids always no matter where their interests took her including being goalie at the pond hockey games into her eighties. She taught her kids the importance of doing the best job you could, even if it meant looking for 5 cents for 3 hours, and was a great example – don’t waste money, food or water.
Thank you to the staff at Citadel Care Centre for providing great compassionate care in her final years.
On a beautiful, sunny day a private gathering will take place.
We love you Mom and will miss you every day.
