It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, grandfather and friend, Les Nelson, of Sturgeon County on the evening of August 7, 2024 at the age of 76 years old.
When Bob Seger wrote the lyrics “Standing arrow straight, charging from the gate and carrying the weight” he must have been talking about Les Nelson.
Les will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor along with dedication and love for his family. His spirit will always be with us at home on the farm and all the places he enjoyed most. Like his annual escapes to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico where he has many cherished memories with Marilyn, family, and friends.
For everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Les they also had the pleasure of knowing true unconditional love and kindness. His love language was acts of service and those acts included food.
Les was always more when it came to those he loved and cared about. Seeing friends and family always brought joy to his face, making sure they were well fed and taken care of gave him purpose.
Les was a loving father to Sarah and Hannah (Scott) and a cherished grandfather to Corbin, Zachary, and Quinn, who will always remember they had the most incredible and loving father and grandfather. He will be sorely missed by brothers Dennis, Fred, as well as numerous other family, friends and especially his nephews Max and Alex. Les is predeceased by his parents Fredrick and Phyllis Nelson, his devoted wife Marilyn of 35 years, and his brother Leo Lenner.
His smile and infectious laugh will echo in our memories forever.
