1938 ~ 2024

With great sadness, the family of Cecilia Morrison of St. Albert announces her sudden passing on Monday, December 30th, 2024.

Cecilia will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Janice (Sean), Paul (Jacqueline); her four grandchildren, Struan, Emma, Brendan and Aidan; sister-in-law, Nessie; and numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Kelly; parents John and Jean; and her brothers, John and James.

Cecilia was born in Glasgow, Scotland on April 18th, 1938, immigrating to Canada in 1964. With Joseph they also spent time living in South Africa and Iran with their young family and continued their travel adventures together during retirement.  She cherished her trips back to Scotland visiting her beloved Glasgow, the seaside town of Largs and Edinburgh where her daughter and family reside.

Cecilia lived life to the fullest. She was a member of the St. Albert Seniors Association where she often volunteered in the kitchen and supported activities. Cecilia was happiest surrounded by family and friends, especially spending time with her adored grandchildren.

We will miss her enthusiasm for life, her love, laughter and wonderful smile.

Cecilia fought a short and courageous battle with cancer, and her family will be forever grateful to the paramedics and nursing staff in the emergency department of the Sturgeon General Hospital for their care in the last few days of her life.

In keeping with Cecilia’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in Scotland at a later date.

In lieu of flowers a donation to Foyer Lacombe through the Covenant Foundation would be gratefully received.
