1934 – 2023
It is with profound sadness that the family of Margaret McRae announce her peaceful passing on Friday, July 28th, 2023, at the age of 89.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Cherlyn and Sharon (Nimer) Baker; grandchildren: Jasmine, Jamal, Jarred (Jadyn) Baker, Teagon (Brent), Kyle, Calvin (Maya) McRae; great-granddaughter Kacey; and daughter-in-law, Deb. She is survived by her sisters Lucille (Alex) Martyshuk, Bernadette (Barry) Round, and Denise (Lionel) Rouault; brothers: Pete (Bonnie) and Eddie (Sabina); along with numerous nieces, nephews, and the extended McRae family.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Alexander (Sandy); son Ross; parents: Charles and Mary Joyal; her brothers and their wives, Frank (Marge), Dave (Jan); and sister-in-law Dori.
Margaret enjoyed working at Chateau Mission Court for many years before becoming a resident there in 2018.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Margaret’s Life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at Chateau Mission Court for their care and compassion while she was there as well as the many doctors and nurses at the Sturgeon General Hospital.
