Walter John McKenna passed away on April 29th in his 89th year. Loving husband of the late Madonna Nora McKenna (nee Clarke) (December 8, 2013). Father of Dr. Kevin McKenna (deceased), David McKenna (Andrea), Cathy McKenna-Kreiger (Ken), Colleen McKenna (Walter) and Stephen McKenna. Walter will be missed by his brother - Donald McKenna, sisters - Joan McEvoy, Isobel Herbert and Aileen McKenna. Walter leaves a legacy of warm memories and love with many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Walter worked as a professional accountant and upon his retirement he took up his second career as a ski instructor teaching into his 80’s.
Walter spent decades volunteering with the Boy Scouts of Canada participating in programs around Canada and at many world jamborees.
A funeral mass will be at Holy Family Parish in St. Albert on Saturday May 6 at 12:30pm.
