April 4, 1941 – July 20, 2023
We are grieved to announce that Richard Maurier has made his final journey to be in the Lord’s glory on July 20, 2023 at the age of 82 in Athabasca, AB with the love of his life, his wife Irene, by his side, after a short battle with cancer.
He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 62 years, Irene; 3 children, Suzanne Tillapaugh, Monique (Robert) Cyr, and Marcel (Cindy) Maurier; he was “Pépère” to Rogelle (Joel) Himschoot, Sylvie (Kyle) Coxen, Paul Cyr, Dennis (Brianne) Cyr, Samantha Maurier; and yet still Pépère to 7 great-grandchildren, Dakota, Marissa, and Dana Himschoot, Keira and Cohen Coxen, and Vivian and Fletcher Cyr. He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Jeanne Maurier; his son Donald Maurier, and his son-in-law, Forest Tillapaugh.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 10 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Emile Catholic Church, 5005 – 46 Street, Legal.
