January 17, 1944 - July 11, 2025
Alice Marchand, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend of St. Albert, AB, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Foyer Lacombe Hospice at the age of 81 years.
Alice was born in Hardisty, Alberta, and was raised on a small farm near Czar, AB. She attended Wainwright High School, and it was there that she met Harvey, and they married in 1962. They moved to Bonnyville, AB, and lived there with a young family of four children and settled in Fort McMurray in 1970 to raise their family. While raising children, Alice volunteered her time with the Diabetes and Kidney Associations, and the Fort McMurray Fire Department. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing, and was known for her many games of Scrabble and Cribbage. Alice and Harvey had many adventures throughout their 62 years of marriage, including a grand trip to Europe, travels throughout North America in their camper van, and many family-filled summers at their cabin on Lake Okanagan.
Alice is lovingly remembered by her husband, Harvey; four children, Patrick (Deanna), Roger (Renee), Deborah (Mike), Dale; daughter-in-law, Kari; eight grandchildren: Abigail, Elijah, Thomas, Ben, Madi (Rhys), William, Daniella (Colin), Julia (Mario); sister, Eileen; sister-in-law, Doreen; and her many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; and brothers, Ron Carey of Calgary, and
Bill Carey of Vermillion.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the
Kidney Foundation of Canada.
A Celebration of Alice’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, AB.
