Susan Laura Livingstone was born December 16th,1945, in Edmonton, Alberta, and quietly passed in Calgary, Alberta, on September 20, 2024.
Susan grew up in Edmonton with her parents, Denise (Lauren) and Earl, and five siblings. She had a bohemian, adventurous childhood, roaming the wooden sidewalks of Bonnie Doone and cooking potatoes with her siblings in Mill Creek Ravine.
At 16, Susan met Jim Livingstone through mutual friends. They married in 1968 and had three daughters, Laura, Jennifer, and Julie. In 1974, they moved to St. Albert, settled down, raised the girls, watched them spread their wings, and stayed for retirement. Susan’s attitude was always positive. She never let life’s trials stand in her way or stifle her disposition. Before retiring, Susan took an opportunity to work overseas, travel, and re-ignite her childhood sense of adventure.
Susan is survived by her daughters, son-in-law Sam; four grandsons, Brady, Riley, Jackson, and Seth; her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Marian Little; her brother-in-law, Glen Gingell; sister-in-law Bodil Little; nieces and nephews, Pamela, Marcus, Jackie, Jill, Martin, and Becky; and the extended Vozza, Bosscha, and Livingstone families. All will miss her.
She was preceded by her husband Jim, only two months prior to her passing, and siblings Patricia, Ross, Diane, and Clifford.
Susan was a social person with many friends. Our special thoughts go out to all her dear and much-loved friends, Judy, the entire Glenhaven gang, the enduring bridge ladies, and many others near and far. We hope her laugh will forever be remembered and bring a smile to your face.
Thank you to the staff at the Cross Cancer Institute and Rocky View Hospital for their amazing care during her last days. We are forever grateful.
We will have an open house to celebrate her life at 7 Apple Place on Saturday, November 9th, from 1 to 4 PM. Please RSVP and leave a message with Julie at 587-436-9723.
