February 26, 1939 ~ September 26, 2024
The family of Elizabeth Louise Green Lang is saddened to announce her passing peacefully in her sleep on September 26, 2024 at the age of 85 years. Known to most as Betty, she was born in Mirror, AB February 26, 1939.
She was the youngest born to Jennie Eudell Mackenzie of Mirror Alberta and Albert Robert Lang of the UK. She is predeceased by sisters Shirley, Patricia and Susanne and her brother James. She was married to Theodore Edward Lang of Maidstone SK who predeceased her in 2014 after 59 years of marriage. Together, they had 4 children Sheri G. Lang, Robert Todd Lang (Josee Lambert Lang), Christal Louise Lang and Cameron Edward Lang (Lisa Schovanek). Betty loved all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and they knew her as Grandma Bunny. Lucas (predeceased 2021), Wyatt, Caleb, Connor, Jensen, Amy Foster Brinkworth, Karlee, Dylan, Jordin, Tysan, Sydney and Nicole, great grandchildren Isaac, Noah, Isla, Madden and Tristan.
Betty’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and always made us feel special and loved. She loved babies and small children so when her children were grown, she became a beloved nanny for several families and loved to tell stories of how they blessed her life. Betty loved to bowl and was in a bowling league for several years winning several trophies. She loved cooking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed reading novels, jigsaw puzzles, cribbage, Scrabble and various card games. While working as a nanny, she went to Grant MacEwan University and took Early Childhood classes, making us all very proud of her. Friends and family will remember her as warm and loving with a quick wit and a great sense of humour.
She will be missed by everyone who knew her and especially those of us blessed enough to call her family.
As per her wishes, there will be no viewing or service. Cremation entrusted to Memories Funeral Home.
