Joan Horchuk passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024, at the age of 92, in St. Albert, AB. Born on May 6, 1932, in Wetaskiwin, AB, Joan's life was a tapestry of cherished moments and enduring relationships.
Joan's journey through life was one marked by devotion and companionship, having been predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage; and her dear son, Douglas.
Her legacy continues through her loving children, Douglas (Sharleen), Marj (Cyril) Gowler, and Don (Michelle); her adored seven grandchildren; and her ten great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy.
Joan's professional life was intertwined with Bill's as they adventured together in the Oil Patch, embracing life across northern Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and seven states in the USA before settling back in St. Albert in 1972. Her zest for life was evident in her hobbies, which included golfing, bowling, and traveling. Joan's nurturing spirit shone brightly as she spent countless hours baking, caring for her grandchildren, and serving on committees with the Legion.
Remembered for her boundless love, Joan was the epitome of someone who was loving and thoughtful. Her memory will be cherished and her presence deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Joan Hurchuk's life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived and the enduring power of a kind heart.
