Following a lengthy battle with dementia, Margaret Hicks of St. Albert passed away on September 21 at the age of 79.
Margaret is survived by her sons, Liam (Robyn) and Thomas, 3 grandchildren, Nathan, Maeb, and Gwyn; sister-in-law, Isobel Stewart; and nieces and nephews, Jamie (Alison), Fiona (Ian), and Iain (Emily). She was predeceased by her husband Tom; her parents, Elizabeth and Robert Stewart; her brother, Jack Stewart, and one niece, Sheila.
Margaret was an elementary school teacher in St. Albert for many years, and had a strong passion for the arts and music, including Scottish Country Dance, which was a particular joy for her.
A private celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at a later date.
