1950 – 2025

On April 18, 2025, with his brother Gilbert by his side, Victor passed peacefully into the hands of our dear Lord.

Vic was born on May 13, 1950, in McLennan, Alberta, to parents Rhéal and Aurore. He was blessed with a large and loving extended family and was always surrounded by those who cherished him. Vic’s love for family never wavered. He was a devoted husband to Brenda, a caring and supportive father to his daughters Laura (Brian) and Amanda, and the best “Grampie” to his beloved grandchildren, Isabella and Elliot.

Vic had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether fishing, camping, or sitting by the fire gazing at the stars, he found peace and joy in nature. He also had a soft spot for animals—dogs, cats, bearded dragons, and tropical fish were all part of his extended family over the years. A passionate motorbike enthusiast, Vic seized every opportunity to ride. Thanks to the incredible staff at Foyer Lacombe, his wish for one last ride came true. (See film footage on Global and CTV.)

Vic always loved being around cars. He spent 37 years working in local garages, maintaining and repairing Park and Rec equipment for the City of Edmonton. Even after his official retirement, he continued to work as a delivery driver, always happy to help and stay connected to his community.

Vic is proof that there is a good guy gene. His kindness, humility, and quiet strength left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Albert Catholic Parish. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Foyer Lacombe, in Vic’s memory, to help other last wishes come true.
