It is with great sadness that the family of Maureen Gerlach (nee Courtney) announce her passing on September 4, 2023.
Maureen was born in Edmonton, Alberta, in April 1935, and was the fourth child and second daughter of John and Margaret Courtney.
Maureen is survived by her loving husband, Ed Gerlach; and her children, Kelly (Monica) McCarthy, Mark McCarthy, and Colleen (Joe) McNamara; as well as her grandchildren Ben (Nicky), Elizabeth, Allison, Dylan (Denise), and Egan (Crystal) and great grandchildren Beverly, Marilyn, Stella, and Griffin.
She was predeceased by her parents; brothers Jim (Valerie) and John (Margaret); and her sister Margaret.
Maureen’s family would like to thank the staff at unit 17 in the Sturgeon General Hospital for their hard work and dedication in Maureen’s final days. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Maureen’s name to the charity of your choice.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of a life well lived will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 2:00 pm in St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta. An interment will be held at a later date.
