On June 17th, 2024 our beloved mother, nanna, and friend passed away at the age of 71 surrounded by her three children.
She is survived by her children Kurtis (Chelsea), Karly (Brian), Kristy (Sean) and sister Bonnie; as well as 4 grandchildren whom she cherished – Harrison and Shayne McRitchie, Henry and Jack Drummond. Joanna was predeceased by her husband Robert Drummond as well as her parents John and Verna Bain.
Joanna and Robert moved from Ontario to St. Albert in 1976. They were very involved in the community through the arts and sports; as such they created quite the legacy for themselves in St. Albert. Joanna was one of the first members who helped establish the St. Albert Potters Guild and was very instrumental in the community art scene. Her art is displayed throughout St. Albert in homes and in community venues. Joanna was always very fulfilled with the exceptional and lifelong friendships she cultivated in this community.
Joanna will forever be remembered by all as a vivacious, loving, and a truly authentic person.
A celebration of life will be held at The St. Albert Inn on July 5th, 2024 at 3 pm.
