August 8, 1941 – June 10, 2025
On June 10, 2025, Delmar Darda of St. Albert, Alberta, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 83.
Delmar was born in the district of Boian, Alberta, on August 08, 1941, to Nicolai and Sanchira Darda. Delmar will always be remembered for his kindness, strength, cooking, and humor. Delmar dedicated his life to family and was a loyal friend to all who knew him. He was always there with a joke and quick wit to make people happy and laugh. Delmar was a hairstylist and loved cooking, golfing, hunting, gardening, music, and wood carving.
Delmar will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Alva; son, Shane (Reverdi); daughter, Jodi (Roggie) Bourque; and his 4 grandchildren, Joshua, Madison, Mackenzie, and Owen.
Delmar was predeceased by his parents, Nickolai and Sanchira; sisters, Dora Darda, Mary Darda-Fox, Maryann (Ernest) Fiddler, Ann Darda, Kathleen (Frank) Wasuita, Shirley (Otto) Miskey, Jenny (Mitch) Anthony, Rose (Nick) Kereliuk, Helen (Bill) Nixon, Roxcellia (Ron) Chrapko; brothers, George, Ernie and survived by his brother, Peter; and many nieces and nephews.
The family is sincerely grateful to the Everitt Gardens management and staff for the wonderful level of support and compassion during Delmar’s recent stay, and to the doctors and staff at the Sturgeon Hospital and the Norwood Hospice for the care provided with compassion in Delmar’s final days.
A Funeral Service will be held at on Saturday, June 21st, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation 1 hour prior, in St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert AB. Cremation will take place and a private family interment will be held at a later date in St. Albert Municipal Cemetery.
