November 3, 1943 – April 12, 2025
Dianne Faye Coyne, a beacon of light whose laughter and love of life were as infectious as her passion for the arts, passed on April 12, 2025. She left an indelible mark on the hearts and souls of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A maestro of the piano and a siren in song, Dianne mastered the art of striking a chord, both on the keys and with her students. She shared her musical gifts generously, teaching at the Yamaha School of Music and in private lessons. Her educational journey included the University of Alberta, Arthur Murray Dance Studio, Grant MacEwan University’s Theatre Arts Program, and Banff Centre for Arts.
Dianne competed in piano at an early age and later in ballroom dance across North America. She provided the piano entertainment at many events, including the John Strauss Ball.
Dianne found joy in life’s everyday moments, whether it was sipping coffee with friends or scouring the shops for the latest fashion. Her love for her family was deep and unwavering. Dianne was the ultimate cheerleader at her grandchildren’s events, whether dance or sports.
Dianne will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She leaves to mourn her loss sister, Carol; brothers, Richard (Viola), Brian (Myrna), Lorne and David (Shauna); son, Jason and daughter-in-law, Candice; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kaelyn, Ethan, Alexis and Taylor; “unofficial daughter-in-law,” Crystal; and furr babies, Bookie and Shadow.
Dianne was predeceased by her son, Curtis; husbands, Ivan and John “Ab”; and parents, Arthur and Reatha Gill.
The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and amazing nursing staff at the Misericordia Hospital and Foyer Lacombe Covenant Care, for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during Dianne’s last month.
A Celebration of Dianne’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the St. Albert United Church, 20 Green Grove Dr., St. Albert, AB. To honor Dianne’s life we encourage festive attire and dressing to impress.
