It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Bunten announce his passing on August 18, 2023 at the age of 90. Bob passed away peacefully at Youville Home in St. Albert with family by his side.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Beverly Bunten, and his children Garth Bunten (Susan), and Patricia Bunten-Walberg (Darcy and his son Paul); his grandchildren Richard Bunten (Noelle), Alex Bunten-Walberg, Amanda Bunten-Walberg, Quinn Bunten-Walberg, Natalie Bunten and Steven Bunten; his great-grandchildren Madison Bunten and Cael Bunten; brothers-in-law, Neale, Glen (Avaard), Lorne (Claudette) and Alan (Karen).
He was predeceased by his mother and father, John and Bessie Bunten; mother and father-in-law, Rhoda and Herbert Goodale; daughter, Pamela (Bunten) Vellieux; son, Dr. Earle Bunten; sister, Jean Wright,
Bob was a dedicated and proud employee of CNR for 39 years, retiring in 1987. He was a loving husband, and a much loved father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be remembered for his gentle kindness, his love for a good game of cribbage and the perfect cup of tea.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Chapel, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta.
The family would like to thank the staff of Youville Home who cared for Bob for the last two years, and Dr. Ben Macedo for his care and compassion.
