John Otto Bokenfohr (Johnny O) born on November 12, 1935, in Volmer, Alberta, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025. John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Judy; his children; Brenda Koch (Derrick), Cindy Bodnar (Marshall), John Bokenfohr (Cynthia) and Scott Bokenfohr (Joni); 10 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at St. Albert Catholic Church, 7 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert, AB. Interment to follow at St. Albert Catholic Cemetery.
John was preceded in death by his parents Fred & Olga Bokenfohr, mother and father-in-law Bill & Katherine Ortmeier, brothers Ernie and Fred, sister Elizabeth, brothers-in-law Alois, Lawrence, Ken, and Bob, dear friend Fr. Jaques Joly.
