Gloria Gladys Bauer passed away peacefully on September 6, 2024 surrounded
by friends and family in Edmonton, Alberta.
She is predeceased by her father John and mother Freda and survived by her
son Darrell Bauer, of Peace River, Alberta.
Gloria was a graduate of the Calgary General Hospital school of nursing. Her
nursing career included several years of bedside nursing, nursing education
administration at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and the University of Alberta.
This led to a consulting role working with the College of Licensed Practical
Nurses of Alberta.
Following her retirement, she was involved with a wide range of volunteer roles
including the Pilgrims Hospice, Women's Auxiliary at the Royal Alexandra
Hospital, Kingswood Village condo board and many other community agencies.
Cremation has occurred and she will be interred during a private ceremony at the
Westlawn cemetery, in Edmonton, Alberta at a later date.
There will be a celebration of life for her many friends, colleagues, neighbors and
relatives. This is scheduled for the 27th day of September 2024 at 2:00PM at the
Westlawn Funeral Home, 16310 Stony Plain Road, Edmonton, Alberta.
We are sincerely grateful to all the staff at the Pilgrims Hospice for their care and
support of Gloria during her stay. In lieu of flowers we ask that a memorial
donation be made to the Pilgrims Hospice in her name. A celebration of life will
be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on 20240927
at Westlawn Funeral Home, 16310 Stony Plain Rd.
