Do you have some time to share each week with an individual in need of some companionship? Share your gift of listening and good conversation as you visit this client in his home in a St. Albert lodge. Knowledge about airplanes and flying airplanes would be beneficial as this man used to fly a plane. There are several other clients with other interests that are in need of a friendly visitor as well.

If you are a people person with good public relations skills and are comfortable handling cash and operating a cash register, consider volunteering in our local hospital’s gift shop. Commitment is once a week with various shifts available.

Are you fluently bilingual in French and English and enjoy working with children? Help youth with homework in the French language on Thursday evenings throughout the school year.

In this upcoming season of giving, volunteer to support this organization that helps so many in need all year. From Nov. 19 to Dec. 24, help to accept donations at various St. Albert locations. Shifts are three hours each. The minimum age to volunteer is 14.

Are you well organized and comfortable working on the Internet? Assist this organization as a researcher and correspondent in an effort to promote the registry and theft prevention. Work can be done in your home.

Help this organization that takes action against sexual violence and works to empower individuals affected by sexual abuse and assault. Assist them to fundraise by helping to set up and run weekend afternoon bingos.

Do you have intermediate alpine skiing or snowboarding skills? Help people with disabilities live richer, fuller lives by sharing those skills and providing ski or snowboard instruction to these individuals. Lessons are Wednesday evenings at Rabbit Hill during an eight-week Learn to Ski program, January 12 to March 2.

Do you have a medical background and are you empathetic, compassionate and relate well to seniors? Help at this seniors’ facility on the first Tuesday of each month to do a blood pressure clinic in the afternoon.
