As summer gets into full swing, it's that time of year when many people look to unwind with a round of golf and friends. St. Albert and the surrounding area is home to some of the best golf courses and the readers of the St. Albert Gazette have voted these three as some of the best.
Sturgeon Valley Golf & Country Club
Established in 1960, Sturgeon Valley Golf & Country Club is located east of St. Albert and north of Edmonton in Sturgeon County. This golf course was voted as the best golf course according to Gazette readers.
According to their website, their mission is to foster an exceptional golf experience by "building and maintaining lasting relationships, embracing diversity and inclusiveness, engaging their community," and continuing to grow and improve.
Their 18-hole, par-72 golf course spans a total of 220 acres and can be booked up to seven days in advance. They can also host up to 144 players per tournament, and their facility also features a pro shop with a variety of golfing equipment, clothing, and accessories.

Sandpiper Golf & Country Club
Sandpiper Golf & Country Club is located along the Sturgeon River right here in St. Albert, Alta., and was voted number two for Best Golf Course by Gazette readers.
"Golfers are sure to enjoy a fun challenge and some of the best greens in Edmonton and area every year," their website says, with 17 of their 18 holes featuring water traps and strategically placed bunkers.

Terrae Pines Golf & Country Club
Voted as the third best golf course by Gazette readers, Terrae Pines Golf & Country Club is located just north of St. Albert, along Highway 2 and just south of Highway 37.
Their course offers golfers a fun and challenging experience through their 18-hole courses, and their website says their course "embodies the very heart of golfing tradition."
Their courses are open Monday to Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and they also offer a variety of other services such as a fully licensed dining room and a pro shop with a large selection of golfing equipment, accessories and clothing.
