Three Morinville residents have been charged after RCMP found drugs and firearms while conducting a search warrant on a Grandin Drive residence in the town.
On April 1, Mounties found five firearms at the residence, including a loaded shot gun, and three replica firearms in the search, according to an RCMP press release sent April 5. RCMP also found one ounce of cocaine, five to six litres of the psychoactive drug Gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), 6.8 ounces of psilocybin, and 340 packs of contraband cigarettes.
"We hope that by removing these dangerous drugs and guns, we have taken a step to ensure the ongoing safety to our community,” Morinville RCMP Cpl. Jeff Sutherland said in the release.
Morinville officers were assisted by St. Albert RCMP in the search, the release said.
Wendy Susan Patricia Colibaba, 43, Joseph Lindberg Benoit, 61, and Adam Mark Crossan, 36, face several counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and two weapons offences.
All three suspects have been released from custody, and are set to appear in Morinville Provincial Court on April 28.
