A house fire in St. Albert’s Deer Ridge neighbourhood was quickly contained last week, due to the quick work of the St. Albert Fire Services.
The fire broke out on June 27, 2025, at around 11:30 a.m. in the upstairs bathroom of a residence but was quickly contained to that area. One person suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, said Deputy Chief Leigh Sawicki in a statement.
The call came into dispatch at 11:38 a.m., and fire crews arrived on scene at 11:42 a.m., just four minutes later, well within the City’s nine-minute response target for emergencies.
St. Albert Fire Services responded with 17 firefighters, three engines, one tower, one rescue truck and a pickup truck with the platoon chief.
“When fires do break out, the City has a well-trained and well-equipped team to ensure a quick and confident response to any emergency situation,” said Sawicki. “The quick response helped contribute to minimizing damage within the residence.”
No other properties were damaged by the fire. At this time, St. Albert Fire Services is investigating the cause of the fire.
