UPDATE: Lockdown ended at Sturgeon hospital ER

Lockdown put in place due to a patient being brought in following a shooting incident

A lockdown at the Sturgeon Community Hospital emergency department ended at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Alberta Health Services (AHS). 

The hospital's emergency department was put on lockdown after admitting a patient who was involved in a shooting incident. AHS confirmed the lockdown to the Gazette late Wednesday afternoon. 

The 167-bed hospital is located on Boudreau Road in the Erin Ridge neighbourhood. The shooting did not happen at the hospital, according to AHS.
