Student on bike struck by bus on Wednesday, no serious injuries

This is the second time a kid has been hit by a vehicle this week. Both times the kids were not seriously injured.

A student riding a bike was struck by a bus while leaving Hillgrove School on Wednesday at lunch, according to an email sent out by the school's principal.

After the lunch dismissal, a student was struck by a yellow bus while riding his bike. School staff and community members attended to the boy immediately and he did not appear to be seriously injured. 

"Out of caution, however, EMS was called to the scene. We have received word from his family that there were no serious injuries. We are extremely grateful for this excellent news," the email to parents said. 

This is the second time a kid in St. Albert was hit by a vehicle while travelling to and from school this week.

A student was hit by a car on his way to Leo Nickerson Elementary School on Tuesday morning but left the incident with no serious injuries, according to an email that went out to parents.

A student was struck by a car and the first aid team at the school attended to the student immediately, the email read. The student was taken to hospital but did not have serious injuries.
