Windy conditions Friday will blow a fine fall weekend into St. Albert, according to Environment Canada.
Currently it’s 10.3 C at the Villeneuve weather station, with a light air of 13 km/h out of the southwest moving through cloudy skies. That will change around 11 a.m. when Aeolis rolls into town, huffing and puffing with what the U.S. National Weather Service would describe as a “fresh breeze” of 30 km/h with gusts of up to 50 km/h.
Once the clouds have been cleared out, the wind’s watch will have ended and it is expected to ease to a gentle breeze of about 20 km/h by 7 p.m. Clear conditions will set the stage for an overnight low of 6 C by early morning Saturday, and as low as 3 C in outlying areas with a risk of frost.
Mainly sunny conditions are expected for the weekend with a chance of rain Monday. Highs on Saturday of 17 C and Sunday of 15 C are nothing to sneeze at, but the rain and overnight low of 5 C expected for Sunday into Monday could be.
October will arrive dressed for the season with highs in the low teens and lows approaching zero expected toward the end of the week.
