Thursday could be a windy one in St. Albert.
Environment Canada calls for the gusts of Wednesday night to return with a vengeance, though the showers are expected to stay where they are: yesterday.
The overnight low of 1 C will climb to a high of just 8 C for the day, with sunny conditions in the morning and a mix of cloud arriving in the afternoon. A 20 km/h breeze out of the west will strengthen to a 40 km/h wind with 70 km/h gusts around noon.
The wind will weaken in the afternoon back to 20 km/h with 40 km/h gusts in the late afternoon. The UV index, as is usually the case at this time of year, will not be a concern at 1 for the day.
Partly cloudy conditions will persist in the evening with the 40 km/h gusts dying and leaving just a light breeze in the evening.
Friday’s high is expected to be 11 C, with a warmer Saturday still in the forecast: enjoy what could be the last 18 C day of 2024, along with the positively pleasant overnight lows on the weekend between 5 C and 7 C.
