St. Albert has a 30 per cent of flurries that could drop even more of the white stuff after a stormy Wednesday.
But there is hope, according to Environment Canada.
Winds up to 15 km/h will blow around about two centimetres of snow, adding to the up to 15 cm that fell a day earlier.
The high will climb to just -18 C with a wind chill making it feel more like -24.
The evening will bring increasing cloudiness before that pesky 30 per cent chance of flurries returns overnight. Winds of 20 km/h could gust up to 40 km/h by midnight.
The temperature will begin to rise Friday, with a high of -11 C by morning (wind chill -24) and -16 C overnight.
The mercury is expected to finally climb to a high of -4 C Saturday and 0 C Sunday under sunny skies.
