One man is facing three drug-related charges after St. Albert RCMP drug officers executed a search warrant in northwest Edmonton on Friday afternoon.

Officers found a small amount of marijuana and cannabis resin, as well as four ounces of crack cocaine and $2,730 in cash at the home after conducting the raid with Edmonton police at 14332 – 121 Street.

RCMP spokesperson Const. Janice Schoepp said a tip from the public lead police to the home. She said the drug unit believes the accused was trafficking drugs in both communities.

She said the St. Albert RCMP drug unit was the lead on the investigation, but worked co-operatively with Edmonton police.

The crack cocaine was a significant seizure, Schoepp said because it has a street value of approximately $15,000. In addition to seizing the drugs and cash, officers also seized a 2007 Nissan Murano that belongs to the accused.

Jevon Aveen Raj, 26, is facing one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime.

He was released on $3,000 cash bail and will make his first court appearance on Monday. As part of his release conditions he has to remain in the province and is prohibited from having a cellphone.
