Environment Canada warns as much as 25 cm of snow could fall on St. Albert Friday into Saturday.
The precipitation, which follows the flurries that dusted the countryside (and laid the groundwork for some light pillars, too), is expected to start Friday evening and intensify Saturday morning.
The forecast warns of 15 to 25 cm of snow to fall before the storm abates Saturday evening.
“Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow,” Environment Canada warns. “Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.”
The agency advises motorists to prepare for “quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.”
