Risk of thunderstorm in St. Albert Tuesday evening

Partly cloudy conditions in the evening could give way to rain after 6 p.m.

Thunderclouds that rolled through the Edmonton region were visible from east St. Albert Tuesday morning. The system isn’t expected to drop much precipitation on the city, according to the Weather Network.

A thunderstorm drenched the morning commute in parts of the Edmonton region Tuesday, but rain isn’t expected in St. Albert until after the drive home.

The hourly forecast from the Weather Network calls for sunny conditions for the remainder of the morning with clouds moving in this afternoon.

By 6 p.m., the network sees a 40 per cent chance of thunderstorms at 24 C, with the humidex at 26.

The risk of precipitation drops back to zero by 9 p.m. The sky should stay clear overnight, with cloudy conditions and a 20 per cent risk of rain forming up over breakfast Wednesday, which will see a high of 26 C, 28 with the humidex.

In St. Albert, there will be a 30 per cent chance of thunderstorm Tuesday evening and after midnight, according to Environment Canada. Wednesday is expected to be sunny with a high also of 26 C, 28 with the humidex.
