RCMP are asking for the public’s help to identify five men they say were involved in a jewellery store theft at St. Albert Centre earlier this spring.
Police say the theft occurred between 6:10 and 6:30 p.m. on April 1, 2025. According to investigators, three men allegedly entered the store and distracted employees while two others gained access to a safe and stole its contents.
The suspects then left the store separately in an apparent effort to avoid raising suspicion. Staff did not discover the theft until later that evening.
Stolen items include:
-
Numerous diamond and gemstone rings
-
Gold chains
-
Watches
-
Cash
All five suspects are described as males with medium to larger builds, medium complexions, and dark hair and/or facial hair. They are believed to be in their 30s or 40s.
RCMP are reminding business owners that distraction thefts are common in many industries and note that jewellery thefts are on the rise nationwide.
Anyone with information about the incident or the suspects is asked to contact the St. Albert RCMP at 780-458-7700 or their local police. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.P3Tips.com, or via the “P3 Tips” app.
