For the second time in two months, St. Albert RCMP are hoping to find the rightful owner of a “large sum of money” that was recently turned in.

RCMP say that on April 17, a significant amount of cash was turned into police after being initially found on March 1 in the parking lot of Christ Community Church, located on the northeastern edge of the city's limit in the Erin Ridge neighbourhood.

“St. Albert RCMP hope to find and return the funds to the rightful owner,” reads an April 18 news release.

“If you lost a large sum of money in that area of town on March 1, 2023, you are asked to contact St. Albert RCMP at 780-458-7700.”

“You will be required to provide the amount and a description of how the money was kept, to prove ownership.”

The release says that if the money isn't claimed within 60 days it will either be returned to the person who reported it, or destroyed.
