The St. Albert RCMP is looking for witnesses after a 17-year-old youth reported being attacked by three masked men.
The young man reported to police that shortly after he exited a cab in the Forest Grove area of St. Albert he was “jumped” by three men who were wearing ski masks.
The attack happened at around 3:30 a.m. on Dec. 27. He told police he was thrown to the ground and kicked in the head.
Cpl. Laurel Kading said the young man reported the cab had driven away and as he was walking up to his home he was attacked. She said this suggests some level of planning was involved.
Kading said there have been no other attacks like this in St. Albert and it is very uncommon.
“It is one of these really weird ones,” she said “This is an unusual thing.”
Because the victim did not get a good description of his assailants, police are looking for anyone who might have witnessed the incident to help with the investigation, Kading said.
Anyone with any information can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or the St. Albert RCMP at 780-458-7700.
